New Producers, exciting wines...
Over the last twelve months we have added some fantastic new makers to our portfolio. We are always in search of serious Burgundy and I like to find new producers making exceptional wine that have not been discovered by the wine press.
This dinner features wines from seven new producers. A couple of the names will be no doubt be familiar but many of these makers have never been seen in Australia before.
What they all have in common is that they are producing exceptional wine.
The dinner features some of my very favourite bottlings. After three interesting whites we have 6 Premier Cru Reds. Domaine des Chezeaux are the owners of some of Ponsot's best known vineyards. The Chambolle-Muisgny 1er Cru Charmes is exactly the same wine as is bottled by Ponsot, but at a fraction of the price. Domaine Michel Noellat in Vosne-Romanee produce classic, aromatic reds from some great appellations. Domaine Henri Magnien is one of my most
Despite the issues with frost and hail and severe losses in the vineyards Chablis has produced some wonderful wines in 2016. The first producer off the blocks is Domaine Jean Durup. You can view his wines here.
The 2015 vintage is Burgundy has critics and wine lovers in something of a frenzy. The reds in particular are quite exceptional and demand is going to be great.
Join us on Wednesday 15th February to sample 8 wines from the 2015 vintage. The dinner will be hosted by Vincent Delcher, Export Manager of BVV France and Darren Harris. We will air freight the samples so you can be one of the first in the world to taste the wines and form an opinion about the new vintage.
The wines will be served in four brackets and each bracket will feature a matching wine from an older vintage as comparison. It is a great opportunity to taste the new vintage and use the experience to decide your buying pattern for 2015.
The wines will be accompanied by a 4-course meal at one of our favourite restaurants - Noir - in Richmond. Click here to visit Noir's website.
The wines have been heavily subsidized by BVV and Grand Millesime so the dinner is a very reasonable $169.00.
