Last November whilst in France I purchased an outstanding cellar of aged wine. The collection featured many rarely seen bottlings including an amazing selection of Grand Cru Burgundies.
Finding quality aged Burgundy has become particularly difficult - the supply has dried up and prices have risen enormously - so this was a particularly significant purchase.
It has been almost a year since our last Aged Burgundy Dinner and before I head back to France I thought it would be fun to host another rare wine dinner.
This dinner features 16 bottles of aged Burgundy. The youngest vintage is 1969 - hard to believe it will be 50 years old next year. There are no fewer than six 1959's - one of my all-time favourite vintages - and a host of other wines.
I have created 4 brackets - Nuits-St-Georges, Corton, Clos Vougeot and Grand Cru Gevrey-Chambertin. They are all communes with the ability to cellar for extended periods. Comparing
Taste 13 wines from the Domaine including their unique Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2015 from Morey-St-Denis and 2016's and a 2017!
13 wines, 4 courses, talk to the winemaker - all just $100.00!

We have had two containers of Burgundy arrive just a month apart. So I have selected 13 Different Wines from 13 Different Producers to feature at our next dinner.
All bar one wine is from the new 2015 vintage and most are Premier Crus. This is a great opportunity to try the 2015 vintage and gain a first-hand knowledge of makers new to our portfolio.
We will be back at Noir in Richmond where chef Peter Roddy will match the wines with a 4 course menu. To read more including the menu and wine list and to buy seats on line click here.
Domaines Bouley and Roblot-Marchand have been two of my most popular discoveries. Both produce terrific wine at very reasonable prices. The wines have arrived and we can now present a range from both producers at our next dinner on Tuesday 19 September 2017.
