Classic cool, restrained nose - acid driven. A lot of finesse, the palate with medium weight fruit and fine, long tannins creating in a fine wine of considerable style. Beautifully structured - a super example from this high quality Premier Cru.

The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cazetiers had a little volatility on the nose when I tasted it. The palate is well balanced with sappy red berry fruit, no VA to speak of in the mouth and there is good structure on the finish. It is not quite up there with the 2014 and 2015 but it had just been racked and I suspect that it will show better after a few months. Therefore I will reserve scoring it for now.
