Vaillon is located on the left bank. The name means little valley and this micro climate surely contributes to the style of the wines. The site sees the morning sun but is not as sun drenched as the south facing vineyards on the right bank. The subsoil displays a high concentration of Kimmeridgian limestone with some very compact slabs in some places. All of this combines to create a classic, mineral-driven Chablis without the weight of Montee de Tonnerre.
