Jasper Morris says “This is a steep, stony, upper hillside vineyard, reaching as high as 380m, with varying aspects as the contours dictate. Part of it lies in Gevrey-Chambertin, but the vines are mostly in Brochon – some people think this is why it was not classified as premier cru. It is a marginal call, so let us enjoy it as a top-quality village wine, with many outstanding producers.”
