Planted in the 1950s on clay, but the mother rock is very close to the surface here. Fine dense red purple. Not much bouquet at this stage. However, the wine is notably concentrated on the palate, with excellent red fruit density, finely grained tannins, just enough acidity and good length. Nicely perfumed and balanced.
Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
At the top on the road between Chevrets and Santenots Dessous - usually the most concentrated. It’s an old (70) vine of almost half a hectareDeep but with beautiful top notes - a great nose! Silky, multi-dimensional flavour. Open, gorgeous wine - bravo!
The Fine Wine Review
The Robardelle shows cherry blossom aromas. The mouth features red cherries and dark fruits; it is light and pure, and very Volnay for its finesse. Old vines here.
