Les Seuvrees lies below the Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin on the Morey border. Served after the Chambolle-Musigny, this is more stern. Spicy dark fruits and tannin and acidity culminating in length and power. Pop this in the cellar and drink in ten years time. (Barrel sample)   Deep red. Fragrant nose of plum, forest berries and a little Gevrey iron. There’s some wildness from the whole bunch. There is a roundness on the palate and plenty of mouthfeel whilst the tannins are well coated by the 2019 fruit. FIne length with the character to ensure medium term cellaring. (October 2021)

A few whole bunches are used to make this wine, perhaps 25%, which is fewer than in the past. It displays very vigorous fruit on both nose and palate with some incisive fresh strawberry notes. Clean and pure. Tasted: March 2021.

Plenty of colour. A nose that reflects the previous wines - no surprise as largely bottled the same week by the same man - but here is also a small amount of whole clusters too - about 20%. This nose also with a faintly floral aspect. Silky, mobile - extra freshness - I’m really loving the energy here - that is completely delicious - almost inky style but in the best sense of the work. Bravo!
