A more supple Gevrey than Les Seuvrees. Gently aromatic nose with fruit, flowers and fresh earthy notes. Balanced with more gentle tannins and a velvet mouthfeel. Provides much in the the pleasure department now but so well balanced I think it will age surprisingly well. (Barrel Sample) Bright crimson. Nose of fresh strawberry, raspberry and flowers. Backnotes of humus and wild mushroom. The fruits are ripe and juicy and the wine is velvety, relaxed and mouthfilling. This is an interesting site that always produces a precocious and delicious wine to enjoy whilst your Premier Crus relax in the cellar. (October 2021)
Gentle and simple on the nose and palate, this is a forward-drinking wine with little complexity, but it is nicely weighted.
The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Le Meix des Ouches has a light nose of brambly black fruit, plus touches of freshly tilled earth and morels filtering through. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins and fine acidity, perhaps missing a bit of grip, though overall it shows decent balance if not much in the way of longevity.
