The Marchand-Grillots were loquacious about the difference between Au Velle and En Songe. This vineyard sits just above the other but is picked a week later than En Songe because it is cooler and damper on red clay. There is a fault line in between the two.
A solid rich dark purple, a touch of oak on the nose, along with concentrated dark red berry fruit. Almost too much though, with some tannins and a little acidity, but this is on the chunky side since the new plantation is included for the first time. Drink from 2028-2033. 89-92 Points
