A downslope continuation of the Grand Cru Chapelle-Chambertin. Planted in 1978. Notes of cherry are very present as always, followed by nuances of liquorice. More textural than heavily structured, it has good staying power.
record breaking 15% at the domaine. Black centre with purple rim. It does not immediately show the degree. It’s a genuine fruit that comes up. A really interesting mouthful of supercharged dark strawberries, and the tannins are fine. I feared the alcohol would intrude more but it does not seem to. 90-93 Points
