On an old quarry below Mazis-Chambertin. 2 parcels of vines; one planted in 1982, the older one in the 1940s. The bedrock is ever present and fissures allow the roots to penetrate deep down. On a gentle slope, the vines face the rising sun.
Dark purple, a heady bouquet with a slightly phenolic nose. This soon cleans up and I like what is underneath. Delicious dark raspberry fruit and then back to the slightly peppery tannins to finish. 90-93 Points
