The 2017 les Evocelles from Domaine Boillot is already a very complex wine aromatically, as the nose offers up a lovely blend of red and black cherries, red plums, dark soil tones, raw cocoa, gamebird, mustard seed and a bit of cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very soil-driven this year, with a sappy core, fine-grained tannins and a long, elegant and still quite youthful finish. (Drink between 2026-2060).

A village vineyard it may be, but Les Evocelles often outperforms its classification. This comes from four plots 'like a staircase' that make up a total of 0.5ha. It's very much a higher altitude Brochon style, with crunchy, juicy, red berry flavours, refined 20% new oak and a hint of good reduction. (Drink between 2022-2027).
The Fine Wine Review
The Gevrey, Evocelles is crisp, pure, and energetic with depth, precision, and good concentration and length. The fruits are dark.
