Cuvee Carmen comes from the vineyard les Vignots. Jasper Morris MW, in Inside Burgundy says “If you leave Pommard by the back road towards Nantoux, you will see a steep slope of vines on your right. The top block of these, above the premier cru La Chaniere, is Les Vignots – a vineyard well exposed towards the south but subject to the cooler valley air nonetheless.”
Burghound
(from Les Vignots). An earthy dark berry fruit nose displays top notes of violet where the earth character is also found on the rich and punchy middle weight flavors that possess a lovely mouth feel, all wrapped in a lingering finish. This is not especially concentrated but I like the balance and complexity. (87-89)/2019+
