La Maltroie is still evenly planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Jasper Morris MW states that the "argovian marlstone subsoil is probably more suited to Pinot Noir". Maltroie reds can be very interesting indeed.
Dense purple black. A little more severe in style than the Boudriotte. More limestone in the soil gives an underlying backbone of pleasing strictness below the ripe fresh raspberry, medium to fine tannins, the right point of acidity and very good length. 90-93 Points
