Bright red, not particularly dark or deep. Very aromatic nose; crunchy red raspberries, red currants, woody spice, rose petal and liquorice. Pure, fresh and driven on the palate. There is a sweetness of fruit, slightly crystalline in its attack and vibrancy. The flavours match the nose and linger long in the mouth. It is silky and elegant with none of the rustic tannins that can be found in Les Vaucrains. This really reminds me of the top Premier Crus from the Vosne-Romanee end - Les Boudots etc - with their elegance and aromatics. It is almost more Vosne-Romanee than Nuits-St-Georges. Gosh, this is impressive!
A beautiful expression of Nuits-St-Georges and Les Vaucrains.
