Darren Harris
The palate and sleek and long. It is not fleshy like Les Village - it is more athletic - with understated power that builds towards the back palate. The fruit is beautifully ripe with cool cherry, raspberry, spice and minerals. There is a touch of wildness and back notes of dried herb and smoke. Complex. Clos de la Rougeotte is never an obvious wine. It is a wine that provokes thought whilst slowly unravelling in the glass.
