Normally a parcel this small would be blended with other Bourgogne but the quality of the fruit from the old vines is so special that the domaine bottles it separately.
From an airfreighted sample that arrived the previous day: A nose that is clean, fresh and bright with gently tangy citrus notes. Serious mouthfeel with great texture across the mid palate, finishing with a long, refreshing acid spine. Bourgogne Blanc is often either too lean or too rich but this wine has the balance of elements spot on. It provides a lot of drinking pleasure for its humble price. Like the 2011 I last tasted this borders on Premier Cru Savigny-les-Beaune in style and interest.
