Bettane and Desseauve
Darren Harris
A super monopole from high in the combe that influences the best 1er Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin. La Romanee is stony and south facing but the forst provides some shade and ensure a cool wine with great finesse.
60 year old vines. 100% destemmed. Very different to Champonnet served before it. A gorgeously restrained nose of cherry, earth and iron. The palate has crunchy red-black fruits and fine mineral notes that fan out in in the mouth. The tannins start late and provide a long and elegant finish. This is a wine of considerable finesse and style.

Monopole. Mid cherry red. Again that attractive dusty/mineral nose, maybe whole-bunch influence, more noticeable than on the above. Super-moreish and extremely fine tannin texture. Finesse and harmony with a mouth-watering finish.
