From vines on limestone soils from the Upper Jurassic Kimmeridgian and Portlandian era, in the communes of Chablis, Préhy and Villy. This type of soil is defined by an alternation of very compact, very hard limestone layers and softer clayey marls, containing fossilized marine organisms. Vine age 25 years.
The sample represents the main blend across 15 ha of vineyards. Pale lemon colour. The bouquet is much more classical than the Petit Chablis. Still a little gas to help the freshness which is there anyway, clean and crisp with some volume off fruit, some apples, and good length. Drink from 2024-2026.
