Located close to the towns of Fleys and Fyé, near Montée de Tonnerre, on the right bank of the Serein, Le Mont de Milieu faces south. This exposure guarantees it a higher average temperature and longer sunshine, a guarantee of quality for this wine.
2 x 600 litre barrels. Romain has the right to make three such with a full yield. It has been blended so as to be ready for bottling in July. Clear fresh lemon and lime. The bouquet is not too exotic, indeed the fruit is quite discreet, albeit more in yellow plums than white apples. Softly sensual towards the back before the kimmeridgian disciple asserts itself. Drink from 2024-2028.
A ripe, cool and spicy nose freely offers up a mix of white orchard fruit, quinine, citrus confit and a whisper of exoticism. The supple but punchy medium-bodied flavors that possess a beguiling texture, all wrapped in an appealingly dry, sneaky long and balanced finale. This definitely needs more depth, but I certainly like the delivery. (Drink starting 2027). 90-92 Points
