Garnet-red. A spicy nose of cherries, plums and bramble. More than a hint of Vosne-Romanee fruit here. In the mouth the wine is generous and creamy (old vines?), textured and silky across the palate. The tannins are soft, ripe and round and very similar to what you see in Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Suchots. There a twist of tangy acidity on the finish that adds an extra note to an already stylish wine.
This elegant wine opens with a subtle but almost lifted note of ripe red cherry. The palate frames this heightened note of cherry freshness with a filigreed frame of fine, still slightly crunchy tannin and its attendant smokiness. The entire structure lets the cherry fruit blossom.
