As expected the Charmes-Chambertin is a big step up from the Gevrey Villages. It has an explosive nose of dark fruit, minerals and game. There are spicy, earth notes with fine tannin supporting a luxurious palate that is typically Charmes with its breadth and fullness in the mouth. Pleasurable now but better in ten years.
