Located just south of the village. Due to the steep gradient of the vineyard, the soil here is thin, and comprises of a layer of pebbly scree over hard limestone bedrock. While this provides excellent drainage, leading to healthy vines and high-quality grapes, this soil is not without its challenges: erosion can be a problem, although this is prevented somewhat by the terracing. Vineyards further down the hill tend to have a deeper, richer layer of topsoil as a result of this erosion. Les Crots has richer, darker, deeper fruit flavours. Spice, plum, earth and violets.
