Burgaud's Prestige cuvee. Formerly known as Cuvee Pur Cent. An exceptional cuvee from 120 year old vines, cropped at Grand Cru Burgundy levels of 30 hl/ha. Aged for 12 months in 4-5 year old oak adding structure and complexity but no oak flavours.
From 70-year-old vines, the 2021 Beaujolais-Lantignié Les Collines des Chermieux has a pretty nose with kirsch and blood orange scents that spring from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture thanks to the maturation in used oak barrels, plenty of black cherries mixed with cassis towards the finish. This is a classy Beaujolais that should offer several years' drinking pleasure. (Drink between 2023-2030). 90 Points
