Inviting, very deep garnet hue. Cassis. black cherry, raspberry cream, violets on the nose. On the palate these flavours are creamy and silky with admirable texture. The fruit is fresh and sappy - dense and concentrated but not heavy. Spice and mineral notes rise on the finish where some tannin adds structure. Easy to drink now but also happy to spend some time in the cellar to develop even more complexity.

The 2018 Beaujolais-Villages Lantignié La Colline de Cheimieux (as the cuvée formerly named "Pur Cent" has been rechristened) offers up lovely aromas of crushed cassis, blackberries, cherries and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, succulent and concentrated palate that's more tightly wound than Burgaud's regular bottling, built to reward a bit of bottle age. Drink 2022-2033.
