Enticing nose of mulberry, cherry and black currant pastille with a hint of exotic spice (anise), mustard leaf and Vietnamese mint. Succulent in the mouth with juicy, fresh fruit to the fore. There’s lots of extract and plenty of flavour coating fine grain tannins. The flavours are deep and the mouthfeel is supple and savoury, almost Pinot-like. (The wine made me think of Morey-St-Denis). Even if you are a Pinot drinker this is well worth trying. There is plenty of depth and ample charm with a hint of sauvage we all love in Burgundy.
