A new cuvee for the Domaine from a 2.8 hectare plot, I recall speaking with Stephane Follin Arbelet and he was very excited to be working with this village that is producing excellent wines from one of the more accessible communes of the Cote d Or and becoming more prominent for astute buyers recognising its close proximity to the Hill of Corton. Ruby and purple colour with fresh nose of redcurrants and strawberry with fine tannins – all destemmed with 18 months elevage in 1/3 new oak.
A discreet but perceptible dollop of wood sets off the markedly earthy and black raspberry aromas. The notably rich, suave and mouth coating flavors possess a succulent, even opulent, texture while delivering good length on the dusty, chalky and unusually powerful finish. (Drink starting 2025). 88 Points
