Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils has built up an estate of 130ha and, collectively, is the largest owner of Grand Crus (12ha) and Premier Crus (74ha) across the Côte d’Or.
Their headquarters is in Beaune so it is not surprising that they have special strength in the wines of the local area.
Considered the finest vineyard at the northern end of Beaune. Lots of limestone in the soil.
The bottles have come from a traditional Burgundy cellar – cold, dark and humid. The labels reflect this but as you can see from the photos of the actual bottles the fills are very good for 28 year old wines – and that is what counts.
