75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre. 50 year old vines grown on a combination of sandy loam and clay. Deep red-cherry colour. The nose is harmonious mixing floral and fruit aromas with a touch of liquorice. The attack is balanced and lively, the tannins powerful and ripe. Long intense fruit and aromatic finish.
Fresh, open, spicy and aromatically precise. Not full-bodied, a very drinkable and fresh style with fine, grippy tannins. A fresh and elegant Châteauneuf to drink young. (Drink between 2021-2023)
Starting with the classic 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape, it has a big, juicy, jammy nose of red and black fruits, licorice, pepper, and candied violets as well as a layered, medium to full-bodied, mouthfilling style on the palate. This cuvée always brings the fruit, but in 2019 it also has freshness and elegance.
Ruby with a dark centre. Focused nose of raspberry, quartz, flowers, liquorice. The palate is refined, far from heavy, almost elegant for Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The wine sits light with fresh, crisp acidity and pleasing chewy tannins. Sometimes the traditional cuvees are the way to go. The grapes and terroir tell the story and winemaking trends have little to do with the finished product. I found this wine to be quite delightful.
