Great White Burgundy at an Exciting New Restaurant

 

 

Domaine Bernard Millot is a small domaine in Meursault. With just 8 hectares of vines Emilien Millot, the fourth generation, produces a range of fine whites from Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Beaune.

 

The domaine's wines are beautifully fresh with an elegance not often seen in Meursault. Emilien strives to preserve the typicity of each vineyard and let the terrior express itself. He is a very conscientious winemaker who shies away from the spot light, preferring to let his wines shine. They are also very reasonably priced and come highly recommended.

 

Our last delivery arrived just before Christmas and includes a mix of Millot wines from 2018 and 2017. It has been some time since our last White Burgundy event and we relish the chance to present the full range at a super dinner.

 

We have both Premier Crus and also a range of Meursault cuvees that really show what a great winemaker Emilien Millot is. We’ll finish with a cheeky, and seldom seen, Meursault rouge.

 

Chancery Lane is housed in the historic Normanby Chambers building. Scott Pickett and the team have re-imagined the former Bistro Vue site to become an instant classic. Returning to its most successful incarnation, Chancery Lane has returned as an European-inspired bistro – albeit with an edge.

 

Like its name, the fit-out pays homage to a previous era; a space where opulence and luxury served as a refuge from life outside and a chance to indulge in the finer things. The fare sees Scott and Head Chef Rob Kabboord reference traditional techniques in a list of classic dishes with a modern twist.

 

Scott is a great guy and we have done many dinners at his restaurants over the years. We are pleased to be hosting this dinner in the private room at Chancery Lane. It is a great opportunity to sample some exceptional white Burgundy and enjoy this new addition to Melbourne dining scene.
