A great drinking Burgundy -
just $44.00 a bottle by the Case!
Another serious bargain!
Domaine Maillard Père et Fils was established in 1766. Since then, it has changed village several times to settle finally in Chorey-les-Beaune in 1952.
Today, the domaine comprises 18 hectares in seven communes. Pascal Maillard looks after the marketing and winemaking. His brother, Alain Maillard, is in charge of operations in the vineyards. They are are the tenth generation of the Maillard family.
In addition to some great Grand Cru Cortons the domaine owns a fine selection of Villages wines across the Cote de Beaune. All of the wines are extremely well priced.
We take pleasure in offering the Chorey-les-Beaune Red and White from 2011 - both wines that punch well above their weight.
Domaine Maillard Chorey-les-Beaune Rouge 2011
Normal Price $55.00 a bottle
Pre Arrival Price $46.95
Pre Arrival Price per Dozen $528.00 (=$44.00 a bottle)
Very vital. Deep nose of red-black cherry. Beautiful fruit with just the right amount of tannin adding lovely length to this serious but charming wine. From an appellation I have not considered before. This is a real surprise. Great drinking!
We also have a little of the Chorey-les-Beaune White available at the same price.
Remember $44.00 is about what you would expect to pay for generic Bourgogne!
