It is not long ago that Domaine Brigitte Berthelemot was a relative unknown in Burgundy. I discovered the wines a few years ago and was very impressed by their quality and very appealing prices. I immediately added them to our portfolio.
In last year's Decanter World Wine Awards the domaine scooped the pool with both the equal best Red and White Burgundies! That is a major feat for a domaine of less than 10 hectares! (We have some of the award winning red available - click here).
In recent years the domaine has expanded, adding serious new vineyards and selling off excess or duplicate parcels. Today, Domaine Berthelemot certainly qualifies as a "Rising Star".
Over the last year we have sold more of their wines than ever before as Burgundy lovers realize what great value the wines are.
Their 2012's are on the way and will arrive late next month. The domaine has recently acquired some exceptional new vineyards and 2012 is the first vintage for a number of these including Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot and Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne. Until the wines arrive you can buy at Pre Arrival Prices and save 15%.
And whilst prices for Burgundy have soared, the wonderful wines from this domaine remain an absolute bargain. Where else can you find a Premier Cru for under $50.00?
I urge to take a look at these wines before they sell out.
