Mas de Boislauzon CdR

Mas de Boislauzon Cotes-du-Rhone Villages 2011

Mas de Boislauzon are best known for their exceptional Chateauneuf-du-Papes which regularly score 100 Points or very close.

However, their Cotes-du-Rhone Villages is made with the same care and expertise and is just a fraction of the price.

Mas de Boislauzon own 15 hectares of vines in the Cotes-du-Rhone Villages located around the part of the estate on the border with Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

In 1936, when the Chateauneuf-du-Pape borders were designated the area was forest. However, the soil is the same as the lieu-dit Boislauzon and can produce very serious wine which is sold at a great price.

The 2011 is a terrific buy. We have only 49 bottles left.

Jeb Dunnuck, The Rhone Report: Along the same lines, the not yet bottled 2011 Mas de Boislauzon Côtes du Rhône Villages (65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre and Carignan) is loaded with spice, roasted meats, toast, licorice, and exuberant red and black fruits on the nose. Dense and concentrated for 2011, this medium to full-bodied Côtes du Rhône is ripe, fleshy, and round on the palate, with a friendly feel, excellent freshness, and plenty of tannin structure. It will shine for 5+ years. 88-91 Points
