21 Bottles of an Outstanding 2012 Chambertin Grand Cru

Frantin 2012 Chambertin Header

Fantastic Reviews from Tim Atkin MW, Winehog, Jancis Robinson and Burghound

Domaine du Clos Frantin's Chambertin comes from a tiny 0.17 hectare parcel owned by the domaine.

Production in 2012 was unusually small and our allocation was accordingly reduced.

We have 21 bottles of this tete de cuvee available for lovers of the great wines of Gevrey-Chambertin. All I can say is be quick! Chambertin is not east to buy!

Winehog.org:  The Chambertin 2012 from Frantin is a very refined and seductive wine. In the nose very elegant and cool offering airy red fruit, wet stones in a otherwise quite earthy minerality. On the palate very airy and intense red and dark fruit - dancing like a ballerina on an intense yet very refined and finely grained minerality. It's long and very intense but still lightfooted and very filigree - a truly beautiful and refined Chambertin. Drink from 2027. Outstanding94-95 Points

Chevillon-Chezeaux Les St Georges

Les St-Georges

Grand Cru Quality?

Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les St-Georges has applied for elevation to Grand Cru status. It is certainly an exceptional vineyard - only time and bureauocracy will tell.

The 2011 from Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux is a terrific example and is very well priced. It comes from vines planted in 1947!

Beautiful vibrant colour. Deeper and more profound than the four previous wines. Spice, an amalgam of fruits, earth, violets. Plenty of extract and a rich, creamy texture from the old vines. Long and serious, but not heavy and rustic like wines of the past.

A serious Nuits-St-Georges of the modern style. The terroir clear and precise. Classy and complex and worthy of Grand Cru status.

The wines are just about to leave France so don't miss this opportunity to buy at Pre Arrival prices.
