Another Aged Premier Cru Burgundy you'd have to be crazy to miss
There is nothing like Burgundy aged in the cold, dark cellars of the domaine. The wines are always fresher and more focused than you see anywhere else.
The pressures of modern business means very few makers now hold back stock to sell as aged wine.
However, one of our producers does. Doudet-Naudin have a history of retaining a portion of each vintage to release at a later date (their old wine stock actually goes back to the 1930's). Traditionally it was restaurants that benefited from this program but we have managed to convince them to let us have some of these wonderful back vintages for our clients.
We sold out of the 1999 Savigny-les-Beaune earlier in the week and now present the delicious 2002 Beaune 1er Cru Perrieres.
This wine is also in pristine condition having never left the cellars. What is even more remarkable is the price. These wines are available at similar or less than what the current vintage would cost.
These opportunities do not come along often. If you would like to add some fine aged Burgundy to your cellar at an incredible price I suggest you stock up soon.
The wine is available at our usual Pre Arrival Price whish is 15% less than the landed price. If you buy by the unbroken case of 12 bottles this discount increases to 20%. Don't delay! Only 8 Cases left!
Beaune 1er Cru Les Perrieres 2002
Normal Price $69.95
Pre Arrival Price $59.50
Pre Arrival Price Case of 12 Bottles $671.50 (=$55.95 a bottle)
The name Perrieres comes from the fact that this site was once a quarry. The stony soil produces a mineral wine.
Beautifully aromatic nose of ripe red cherry, flowers, a hint of marzipan and cherry pits. A silky, fresh palate, mineral infused, with deliciously succulent flavours over long and fine tannins. Racy but mouthcoating. At the beginning of its drinking window but capable of many more years in the cellar. A really fine example of 1er Beaune from a top vintage.
$55.95 a bottle by the case! That is a bargain.
