Terrific 2012 Grands Echezeaux from Domaine du Clos Frantin‏

Sophisticated... intense... powerful... palate staining... Burghound

The Grands Echezeaux from Domaine du Clos Frantin is always one of their best wines.

The small parcel produces wine of exceptional quality with great intensity and complex flavours.

The 2012 is no exception! It is a classic!

We have secured a good parcel which we offer at our usual Pre Arrival Discount of less 15%. If you buy a case of 12 Bottles we'll give you an additional 5% discount.

Compared to Grands Echezeaux from other makers this wine is extremely good value. Buy a case and put it aside for the next decade or two!

Burghound: (from a .4 ha parcel). This is decidedly more reserved than the Ech with reticent spice and wood notes adding depth to the ripe scents of plum, dark currant and dried flowers. There is a sophisticated mouth feel to the intense and big-bodied flavors that possess excellent mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a wonderfully long, powerful and palate staining finish. This should be terrific but note well that plenty of cellar time will be required. 2027+ A "Don't Miss" wine92-95 Points
