You might not know Domaine Vincent and Francois Jouard but I can tell you that this small domaine is making some stunning whites from Chassagne-Montrachet.
The white highlight of Saturday's lunch was their 1er Cru Les Chaumes Clos de la Truffiere Vieilles Vignes 2012.
The Clos de la Truffiere is owned by just three producers and is bottled by two: Michel Niellon and the Jouards.
The Jouards own a 0.71 hectare parcel planted in 1951 and 1996. The 2012 is very complex with intensity but lightness and a wonderful, lively, mineral finish. Most of the tasters felt the finish was very much Puligny-Montrachet in style. It is not unlike a serious Batard-Montrachet, except that it is lighter on its feet.
This is a simply wonderful wine that I cannot recomment too highly.
Until midnight tonight we offer this stunning White at a 15% discount.
