2012 was a very difficult vintage for Burgundy. Quantities were well down and prices have risen accordingly.
The good news is that the reds in particular are quite terrific. They combine structure and fruit meaning they will be delicious young but also age very well.
Alex Gambal left a career in real estate to become a wine producer in Burgundy. It was quite a brave move for an American.
In 1997 he established his own negociant business after attending wine school. Over the years Alex's venture has expanded and now owns a substantial portion of the vineyards from which his wines are produced.
Unfortunately, Alex has suffered with the vagarities of 2012 and both the number of cuvees and the quantity of bottles we have to offer in 2012 is reduced.
There are however, some interesting new cuvees including Charmes-Chambertin (no Latricieres-Chambertin in 2012) and some affordable Savigny-les-Beaune.
If you would like to secure some of the 2012's from this popular maker please act quickly. To order the wines on our website click here. Unfortunately, no tasting notes yet.
