Delightful 2010 Bugundies at very appealing Pre Arerival Prices
But only until 3pm tomorrow
Domaine Gaston and Pierre Ravaut is a family winery. They are located in Ladoix-Serrigny at the junction of the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits, at the foot of the famous hill of Corton. Over six generations have seen this domain gradually develop around the small hamlet of Buisson. The vineyard holdings total just over 16 hectares and production is 80,000 bottles a year, of which 50% is sold in France. The domaine has holdings in the Grand Crus Corton Bressandes, Corton Hautes Mourottes and Corton-Charlemagne and some lovely Premier Crus in Ladoix-Serrigny that taste like mini Cortons.
Sixth generation Vincent is the current manager of the domaine and as has happened at many addresses in Burgundy he has brought a new, fresh approach which has resulted in some exceptional wines.
I tasted at the domaine mid year aned was very impressed with their wines. Their three 2010 Premier Cru Reds from Ladoix-Serrigny all taste like mini Grand Cru Cortons. The style and structure is similar and the wines are brilliant value. Haven't heard the name before - well, you will be missing something if you don't give these wines a go. They are classic, beautifully made red Burgundies.
Then we have the three Corton Grand Crus - two reds and the white Corton-Charlemagne. As good as the 1er Crus are these are a step up. Whilst more inexpensive than the 1er Crus they still represent excellent value.
And remember, all of the wines are from the great 2010 vintage.
I do recommend these wines. They have that desirable mix of classic and delicious - hallmark of the great 2010 vintage. They are available at Pre Arrival Prices which will save you 15%. The wines are in the country and our Pre Arrival Prices are only available until 3pm tomorrow - Friday 21 February 2013.
