Domaine Georges Lignier 2012's - Tremendous scores from Tim Atkin
MW. Wines are selling fast so please don't delay
"2012 is a very good to exceptional vintage for red wines and a good to very good one for whites." "The best wines, particularly the best red wines, are sublime and worth collecting. I promise you won't regret buying them a decade hence." Tim Atkin MW
Domaine Georges Lignier was one of our first Burgundian domaines and is still one of our most popular. The wines of today, made by Benoit Stehly, the nephew of Georges, are aromatic and wonderfully supple in a classic style. That is not to say light, simply that the nuances and character of the vineyards are allowed to shine above extractive winemaking and heavy oak handling.
The 2012's of Georges Lignier have just been reviewed by Tim Atkin MW. There are some terrific scores and notes (Atkin only publishes detailed reviews for wines scoring 94 or higher).
Fans of Lignier should take a good look at these wonderful wines. The Clos de la Roche, more often than not my favourite wine at this domaine, has been brilliantly reviewed and we currently have it available in bottle and magnum. But make sure you don't miss the full range!

Tim Atkin MW:
Georges Lignier's wines continue to be some of the best-priced reds in the Côte de Nuits. The colour may be very pale here, but there's no absence of complexity. It's quite a refreshing style with minerality to the fore, fine tannins and supple red and black fruits. Silky, sensitive winemaking. 96 Points
