Monopoles: Vineyards with a single owner
In the fragmented world of Burgundy there remain around 40 vineyards that have a single owner.
These vineyards include famous names like La Tache and La Romanee-Conti as well as many interesting small parcels from Villages up to Grand Cru.
Ownership of a Monopole is the source of great pride amongst the Burgundians. More often than not the vineyards produce a special quality of wine, which is why the have remained unique for centuries.
We have a range of over 40 wines from the Monopoles of Burgundy available. They span the range from some inexpensive wines from Savigny-les-Beaune up to the magnificent 2005 La Romanee-Conti.
There are many gems in the selection including Vosne-Romanee Clos de la Fontaine from A-F Gros and a brilliant pair of Puligny-Montrachet 1er Crus from Jean Chartron.
