It comes as a bit of a shock when you think that 1966 was almost 50 years ago. I guess I am getting old!
Our latest offering from the deep cellars of Doudet-Naudin is the Vosne-Romanee La Colombiere 1966.
Vosne-Romanee is the most popular commune in Burgundy. It produces wines of great style and according to the 18th century French writer Courtepee "there are no common wines in the village".
We have 24 bottles of this wine to offer. Past back vintages from this domaine have sold out very quickly so if you would like to try this aged gem please act quickly. Once the 24 bottle have sold there is no more.
Vosne-Romanee La Colombiere 1966
Normal Price $425.00
Pre Arrival Price $360.00
The vineyard La Colombiere is located behind Domaine Anne Gros in Vosne-Romanee. It is about 150 metres away from the Grand Cru Romanee-St-Vivant.
There is a higher clay content in the soil which produces fuller bodied wines with the ability to age.
1966 is another famous vintage producing rich and ageworthy wines. Michael Broadbent says "At its best, superb, five-star. Generally reliable and, if good to begin with, still marvellous to drink."
My experience with 1966 is very positive. Whilst I have not tasted this wine it ticks all the boxes. Coming direct from the domaine's cellar the wine is in impeccable condition.
It is not often you can buy an almost 50-year-old Burgundy from Vosne-Romanee, at any price. Don't miss this opportunity to experience something special. Only 24 bottles available.
