Domaine Jean Chartron St-Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dent de Chien 2011
Pre Arrival Price $72.00
Located directly above Chevalier-Montrachet it is no wonder this wine is a great seller. John Gilman says "On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and absolutely rock solid at the core, with crisp acids, outstanding focus and a very long, complex and nicely structured finish. This is a dynamite wine in 2011!"
Alex Gambal St-Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien 2011
Pre Arrival Price $63.75
Gambal's version too is a wonderful wine. Full of citrus and minerals. Burghound says 'This is really very good and would be worth considering, especially from a value perspective."
Domaine Doudet Bourgogne Blanc Les Clos en Village 2011
Pre Arrival Price $37.80
Case of 12 $427.00
Not all Bourgogne is created equal! This parcel is kept separate by the domaine because of it superior quality. Techically Villages level Savigny but the parcel is too small to warrant the bureaucratic paperwork nightmare to have it upgraded. A little over 3 cases left.
Domaine Jean Chartron Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2011
Pre Arrival Price $399.00
John Gilman says it best "The 2011 is pure magic, soaring from the glass in an utterly classic blaze of apple, pear, deep and complex soil tones, a touch of smokiness, orange zest and vanillin oak." 96 Points. P.S. Make sure you read the rest of his tasting note! A top white Burgundy you MUST have.
Domaine Patrice Rion Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Terres Blanche blanc 2011
Pre Arrival Price $76.00
3750ml bottle $42.50
A rare 1er Cru White from NSG. Burghound: "This is really very good and is worth considering if you're interesting in trying something lying outside of the Chassagne, Puligny and Meursault universe. A Sweet Spot Wine." In half bottles too! Try it!
Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres 2009
Pre Arrival Price $99.95
Meursault Perrieres is a great vineyard that as you all obviously know frequently reaches Grand Cru quality. We like this wine so much that when we were offered some reserve stock from the domaine we grabbed it! Very reasonably priced for the quality.
Domaine Patrice Rion Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers 2011
Pre Arrival Price $124.50
Love Musigny Grand Cru but not the price? Try this Premier Cru from Rion. It is deep and mysterious like Musigny but is a fraction of the price.
Domaine du Clos Frantin Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Malconsorts 2011
Pre Arrival Price $169.95
Case of 12 $1925.00
Case of 6 $1925.00
A great wine every vintage and our best seller in this price range. Dark, brooding, complex and classic. Up there with the finest of all 1er Crus. The 2011 is superb!
Domaine Brigitte Berthelemot Beaune 1er Cru Belissand 2011
Pre Arrival Price $45.50
Case of 12 $396.00
This is the last vintage of this cuvee that the domaine will produce as the vineyard has been sold to make way for new white vines. A delicious wine at a ludicrously low price for a 1er Cru. 32 bottles left. Grab a case and enjoy for the next 5 years.
Domaine Gilbert and Christine Felettig Echezeaux Grand Cru 2011
Pre Arrival Price $182.95
The Felettig's top wine from a tiny 0.12 ha holding. Only 600 bottles in good years. Exotic spice, plum with serious colour and depth for the vintage. Cellar or drink.
Domaine Anne Gros Echezeaux Les Loachausses 2011
Pre Arrival Price $313.50
Absolutely classic Burgundy made with a female hand. Elegant, perfumed, lacy and so, so seductive. I don't think Burghound gets Anne Gros' wines but the most of the rest of the world does. They are hard to buy and not cheap but they do deliver something very special for those who appreciate finesse.
Domaine du Pavillon Corton Clos des Marechaudes Monopole 2011
Pre Arrival Price $147.00
Jancis Robinson says "Bright mid cherry red. Deep but gentle aroma of spiced red fruit and fragrant note that reminds me of stems but it's fragrant rather than herbaceous. Both bright and refined; fine boned and long. Deliciously mouthwatering on the finish." A Bargain. 8 bottles left.
