Alex Gambal left a career in real estate to become a wine producer in Burgundy. It was quite a brave move for an American.
In 1997 he established his own negociant business after attending wine school.
Over the years Alex's venture has expanded and now owns a substantial portion of the vineyards from which his wines are produced.
Tasting with Alex is always fun. Having got to know him over the last couple of years has been a pleasure - he is a really nice guy.
And of course, his wines are also a very important consideration.
The 2011 Alex Gambal wines arrive in under a week. The opportunity to buy at Pre Arrival Prices and save 15% will end next Monday 30 September 2013.
Our 2011 selection includes a number of new cuvees from Villages to Grand Cru. Over the years, somewhat to his surprise I believe, Alex has become something of a white Burgundy specialist and his range of interesting cuvees is worthy of a serious look. I am always particularly fond of his Corton-Charlemagne and the Saint-Aubin Les Murgers des Dents de Chien is always a big favourite at a reasonable price.
