2011 Vintage Ports I Header

Offer Ends 19/8/2013 or when sold out

2011 is being hailed as incredible year for Vintage Ports. Don't miss this opportunity to buy at En-Primeur Prices and save an incredible 35%!

All the critics are raving about the quality of the 2011 vintage in Oporto. James Suckling says "The newest vintage Port on the market, 2011, is the best since the legendary 1994, and perhaps even better. The top young Ports from this vintage show a purity of fruit and superb structure of tannins and acidity. It's this sensational balance that makes them extraordinary."
Jancis Robinson says "truly outstanding" - the accolades flow from everyone who has tasted the wines.
We are delighted to present our first offering of 2011 Vintage Ports. What makes this offering so special is that the wines are all available at En-Primeur Prices. What does this mean?

En-Primeur is usually used for Bordeaux where interested buyers can purchase wines in advance whilst they are still in barrel at a discounted price. Often the wait for delivery is well over twelve months, sometimes as much as two years.

In the case of these Ports the wines will be available for shipping in September this year, so the wait is quite short. However, the savings are quite incredible.

The En Primeur Prices are 25% less than the regular prices ex cellars. So when you combine this discount with our regular 15% Pre Arrival discount the savings are around 35%!

On wines that are already serious value from a great vintage these wines are crazy cheap! Can you imagine paying just $65.50 for a 750ml bottle of Vintage Port from a great year? Well, we can do that for our clients. But you will need to get in quickly, this offer ends midnight Monday 19 August 2013, or when sold out.

Barros 2011 Barros Vintage Port 2011
750ml bottle normally $99.95
En-Primeur $65.50
1500ml Magnum $199.95
En-Primeur $131.00

James Suckling: This is big and powerful. Full body, very sweet with round, rich tannins and dense fruit. Lasts for minutes on the finish. Best ever from here and a wonderful young vintage Port to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Try in 2022. 93 Points

Burmester 2011 Burmester Vintage Port 2011

750ml bottle normally $108.95

En-Primeur $71.50
1500ml Magnum $217.95
En-Primeur $143.00
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 2011 J W Burmester has a sweeter, comparatively floral bouquet with open, generous scents of ripe dates, black plum and raisin that need to show a little more restraint. The palate is similarly sweet and viscous on the mouth. It leans away from the 2011s more structured style, but it is nicely balanced and would appeal to those that like a little hedonism in their "VP's". 88-90 Points
Calem 2011 Calem Vintage Port 2011
750ml bottle normally $108.95
En-Primeur $71.50
1500ml Magnum $217.95
En-Primeur $143.00
James Suckling: Aromas of blueberries, minerals and slate. Flowers too. Full body, medium sweet with intense and powerful tannins. Wonderful depth and beauty to this. Chewy and polished. Lasts for minutes. Best ever from here. Try after 2022. 93 Points
Kopke 2011
Kopke Vintage Port 2011
750ml bottle normally $114.95

James Suckling: Very floral and fruity with raspberries and blueberries on the nose. Full body, medium sweet with firm and chewy tannins. Lovely texture to this. Goes on for minutes. Very well-made for here. Try in 2020. 92 Points
