Alsace, in the north east of France, is famous for its mineral Rieslings and tasty wines from local grapes including Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Gewurztraminer.
The wines, particularly those from small artisan makers, are extremely good value.
This Pack explores four varieties from the superb 2010 Vintage. 2010 is a classic year with high acid creating refreshing wines. I enjoy the mineral styles from Alsace and the wines we import reflect my preference.
I should also point out that most of the wines are from single vineyards. Just as in Burgundy, different vineyards impart their own characters to the wine.
