Our family holiday to Vanuatu early this year was somewhat marred when Qantas (permanently) lost an item of our luggage. It happened to be a case of Grand Cru Burgundy that we were looking forward to enjoying with our feet up around the pool.
Finding a vaguely suitable replacement in Vanuatu was impossible. We were reduced to trying some wines we would not usually taste.
From the pain came some pleasure when we discovered some lovely little whites from Gilles Blanchet in the Loire. He has a range of Pouilly-Fume but it was the Pouilly-Sur-Loire that captured my attention.
We didn't get around to offering these wines Pre Arrival so for a limited time we offer them at a special prices, the equivalent of Pre Arrival discounts. Don't miss the incredible price for the unbroken case.

Bright and light. White flowers, hazelnut, leatherwood honey, smoke, a discreet and complexing hint of sulphides. Quite a haunting character that reminds me at times of Chablis. Round and quite full in the mouth, a little pith and pineapple acidity. A refreshing, dry, crisp, mineral, finish.
I particularly like the wine served quite cold when it would make an exceptional match to shellfish, especially oysters. It makes me think of the fresh seafood and crisp white wines I have enjoyed along the seaside in France.
