Our latest container arrives today full of great French wine. It includes a number of tremendous new producers and the first major delivery of 2011 Burgundy.
The 2011 Burgundy vintage is a different vintage to anything in the recent past. Stephen Tanzer says "An upside-down growing season that would have been a disaster a generation ago produced perfumed, consistently charming wines that will be relished by long-time Burgundy lovers and neophytes alike. This very good to excellent vintage offers enticing, soil-driven red fruit, floral and mineral flavors; pliant texture; and ripe, smooth tannins. While the overwhelming majority of wines will offer considerable early appeal, they also have the concentration and balance for mid-term aging."
We are very excited about our new discoveries and we feature them, along with a selection of other new arrivals, at this Burgundy Dinner. This dinner presents a great opportunity to try a number of new producers and a selection of 2011 Burgundies at the same time.
