2009 and 2010 in bottles and MAGNUMS at crazy low prices!
There are three levels of Cotes-du-Rhone. There is the basic Cotes-du-Rhone, Cotes-du-Rhone Villages and at the top Cotes-du-Rhone Villages with the name of the village attached.
Chateau Simian's Cotes-du-Rhone falls into the third and highest rated. It is Cotes-du-Rhone Massif d'Uchaux signifying a wine of superior quality and distinctive regional style.
They call their wine Jocundaz after a millennium old church Saint Martin de Jocundaz. Today the only remains are some pieces of stone including the altar piece which appears on the wine's label.
Jocundaz is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah grown on sand and limestone soils. By Cote-du-Rhone standards it is very serious.
Until 5pm Tuesday 30 April 2013 we offer the 2009 and 2010 Jocundaz at an extraordinaly Pre Arrival Price.
The Normal Landed Price for this wine is $29.95 a Bottle. Regular Pre Arrival Price is $25.50.
For orders placed before the cutoff time you can pay just $19.95 a bottle or $39.95 a MAGNUM.
I think this is remarkable value for a wine of this quality. And the MAGNUMS are a real treat. They would be great in the cellar or make an exceptional gift.

The Rhone Report on 2009: A seriously impressive Côtes du Rhône, the 2009 Château Simian Côtes du Rhône Villages Massif d'Uchaux Jocundaz, a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, delivers a classical array of sweet red fruits, dried garrigue, licorice, spice cabinet, and pepper on the nose. Screaming southern Rhône on the nose, it is every bit as impressive on the palate and possesses a medium+ bodied mouth feel, loads of sweet fruit, and enough acidity and tannic structure to keep it focused and clean on the finish. Well worth seeking out, this should easily continue to impressive for 5-6 years, if not longer.
I would expect the 2010 to be equal or most likely even better.
