"Graham's '94 will evolve at a high level for another 5 decades and should be permitted to improve in bottle. It's a remarkable, classic Vintage Port."
Roy Hersh, For the Love of Port
The 1994 Vintage Port from Grahams will outlive many of us. But there is no need to worry, Grahams Ports with their luscious fruit character, drink very well at a youthful 10-20 years of age.
Vintage Port is a remarkable wine. It is made entirely from the grapes of a single declared year grown only in the Douro in Portugal. The grapes are picked ripe and fermentation is stopped by the addition of grape spirit leaving residual sugar and an alcohol content of around 18%. The wines age in bottle rather than cask like tawny port. Great vintage port can develop for 50 or more years.
Port houses typically declare just three vintages a decade and vintage port accounts for a miserly 2% of Port production.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of one of the great vintage port vintages - 1963. Whilst we can't offer a range of 1963's we do have the 1994 Graham's Vintage Port available.
1994 is one the best years of the 20th century. Many consider it to be the finest vintage of the last 50 years.
Our 1994 Graham's has come direct from the estate where it has resided undisturbed since bottling well over a decade ago.

Robert Parker: In a port tasting, tasting Graham's is almost like tasting a big, rich, succulent Merlot after a group of blockbuster, tannic Cabernets. Sweeter and more obvious than many ports, the opaque purple-colored 1994 is fruity, powerful, and rich, with an addictive hedonistic quality. It will be ready to drink in 8-10 years and keep for up to 30. As always, this is a showy, flamboyant port that has the advantage of being slightly sweeter than other 1994s. A great Graham's. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2035. 96 Points
